Lots of fun had on Saturday with the ladies making bunting! The start of the session was not promising as all of the ladies sat around and shared horror stories of school sewing lessons, we textiles teachers have some making up to do I think......
After a cup of tea and a look at my samples though we were off....
The morning flew by, cutting out and starting to make our pendents. Some were the traditional triangles but the folded ones and the flags were also popular. Revived by lunch and cake we then set about turning our shapes inside out and attaching them to the ribbons or bindings......
Embellishing them with buttons and ribbons finished them off beautifully and the new skill of machine on buttons took them all by surprise but speeded the task along. By afternoon tea time EVERYONE had some lovely bunting! Only I was not surprised that they had all completed the task and how lovely it looked. Very well done to Jo, Rachel, Helen and Caroline. You should all be very proud!
Continuing the theme, Georgina, in her second one to one lesson, also made some bunting this week. As we had done straight lines last week, this week we were on curves. I set her quite a hard task and the curved bunting was added to with her and her husbands initials, also sew on and they are both G's! Lots of practice on curves but didn't she do well.
If you fancy a fun day making bunting round up some friends and book a day course or a couple of evening... It can be as easy or hard as you like.
Enjoy.
