Busy Summer

Georgina kicked of the summer by making this wonderful bolster cushion out of up cycled textiles found in charity shops and worked onto a calico background for stability and strength.  The layers and trims were added and a loose patchwork effect created.

More quilting followed with a jelly roll and three material quilt being made by me after being reminded by Georgina how much fun and how lovely quilting can be.  The purple one is for my camper van and is has hand stitched heart.  Photos of Georgina 1st quilt to follow!

Charlotte started classes as an absolute beginner but jumped in at the deep end with a reversible dress!  We both made one from this simple pattern and don't we look fab!

Katie had been working hard on her wardrobe too!  She has made a couple of lovely dresses, some tops and a nightdress for her holidays and was very excited to add some pocket to the pattern, making the design truly her own.  All of the patterns were cut as toiles (mock garments) and fitted to her before using this as a pattern and being able to keep the toile for future projects.

Well I've got a quilt to finish, a dress and corset to make and a lovely pair of trousers to hand sew.  Best get to it..........

The pre christmas commission work is flying in and I'd like to make some christmas gifts soon too.

xx
