Congratulations to Amanda and Katie

Big congratulations to both Katie and Amanda this month!

Amanda and Ray have just renewed their wedding vows in the Maldives and doesn't it look lovely.  Even more lovely Amanda made her own dress! It is a lovely dupion silk with lace under dress and a very tricky silk chiffon over dress which she managed wonderfully.  We all wish you both all the happiness in the world.......

As for Katie.......  Jasper has arrived fit, healthy and happy.  What a lucky boy to have Katie for a mum.  He has already been the recipient of a Peter Rabbit cot quilt that has been made for him.  Katie is understandably having a break from lessons but found time to pop in with Jasper and we used the embroidery machine to add Jaspers name, date of birth and other personal details to his quilt.  Really lovely to see you both and Jasper, enjoy your quilt!

October includes half term so we also had our youngest stitcher back for a couple of lessons.  Ellie is getting so proficient that she made two cushions, with housewife pillowcase edges and some bunting in just two sessions.  Go Ellie!  Wonderful use of her my little pony fabric found on Ebay by her dad.  Dad is busy making an apron for his wife, with her company logo on it.  Thanks to Tim for digitising this for us.

Behind Gabe you will see that the Learn it Stitch it sample quilt is finished and up on the wall. A bit of hand finishing on the binding and then some free motion and computer embroidery has finished it off nicely.  A nice addition to the sewing room.

There have been a few dresden plates being made in the workshop this month too.  Kay has made so many she will soon be the proud owner of a quilt for her partner and cushions for her Grandchildren and Cathie has used up her spare bits from her quilt to make a lovely cushion.  Both are using the cushion to do their first attempts at free motion embroidery.......

A big welcome this month to Getta who has joined us and has made a great start with some impressive alterations, a lovely little apron from the fabric bin (up cycling) and a cushion.  Maymoona has also joined us this month and her first shirt will be ready when she gets back from holiday.  Talking of shirts, Ian has joined the boys on Wednesday night and is starting with a shirt.......  Go Ian! Sayda has made her first dress and I'm awaiting photos of this, fairy wings from Miriam and a lovely play mat............. Watch this space.

What a fabulous October.  Keep up the good work stitchers and watch this space for our day out in Birmingham next month

Best wishes

Naomi
