HELLO WINTER

Winter is well and truly here...so time to get making those winter warmers and bulking out our winter wardrobes! Here's some of the latest makes to leave the Learn It Stitch It Studio with winter very much in mind :)

Molly has made this super looking Victorian style coat...

Relative newcomer Christine has made this hoodie from a cable-jersey fabric sourced from Higgs & Higgs in Gloucester...

Jenny has altered a pattern for a hoodie to have a collar instead...great idea :)

To keep her soon-to-be Grandson warm this Winter Jackie has been making this super play suit in a fleece and cotton-jersey fabric...

One of the most popular materials of late has been a soft-shell fabric...its got a fleece inner and a waterproof outer...absolutely perfect for making a coat...I know, I've made two out of it already :) Its also a great material to work with as it won't fray when cut and you can create some great finishing with an over-locker.

Sally used it to make this splendid looking coat using a really nice ladybird pattern...

Here's one that Cathie has made too...

And Sally went one further and made this bag to match the coat she'd made...

So with all this Winter talk...here's some Sunshine instead...Mark won a day-course at our Christmas Charity Sew last year and this month came with his family to make clothes for a forthcoming holiday...T-shirts were made, shorts were made and Claire up-cycled some Charity Shop finds too. A lovely day had by all :)
