What a fab March. Sallie has been making a fantastic lined coat. She used a pattern, cut a toile and lined it in that FAB colour..... The collar she cut from some upcycled vintage velvet. It's turned out fabulously. Her partner in stitching on a Monday is Sue and she has been making fleece dog coats, not sure the dogs are impressed!
Amanda has joined in the Monday fun and started to come for lessons to learn to use her machine. We started with a Learn it Stitch it tote bag but she has now finished off a curtain that she started from a wonderful off cut of silk velvet. After a little shopping trip to Sharmas fabrics in Nottingham she has also completed a fantastic silk curtain for her spare bedroom....... Picture please Amanda!
Becky has also started this month and she has cut out some lovely cotton PJs. Lovely simple pattern with some nice details. Simplicity 1502 if any of you want to try it too.... Again picture to follow. Her cotton came from The Remnant House but it looks a lot like Cath Kiddson.
Well done ladies, keep up the good work.
The day course on Perfect fit and making table decorations saw some fantastic work done and completed. Angela's bunny print fabric is just the thing for the Easter table and her grandchildrens eggs. Course on machine covers coming up........
Tim has had a break from his big projects to really give his sofa a treat! Now that is what I call a well dressed sofa, hidden zips, piping and free motion embroidery. Kay is now sewing with lots of confidence. She started with some lovely patchwork and is now patchworking bears....
This months blocks for the year long quilting project have come on well and I am looking forward to seeing it all come together later in the year.
Next months blog will include a wedding dress made by a student for her Mum, it's still top secret so ..... Till next month. Keep stitching!
xx
