May is the month for the Men! Come on lads.............

Let's start with a cheer for the gentlemen coming to learn to sew!  Tim has been with me since the beginning and is still making some fantastic pieces, right now he is working on a sewing machine cover and has recently embroidered and then piped and invisible zipped a cushion for his very luck Aunt.  Last month he was joined by Gabriel (Gabe) and he joined to make his daughter a pencil roll for her felt tips and he has progressed to a rather fabulous beach bag with Zipped and concealed pockets, store for sunglasses and even a safe place for bottles.  Both children also have a lovely beach themed bag.  They have now also been joined by Gary.  Another keep machine embroiderer Gary is now keen to use his machine for more sewing projects.  Having learnt to shorten his sleeves on his shirts he is now working hard to stitch jetted pockets.........  Roll on the waistcoat.

Gary's better half came 1st though, with daughter Molly and both have started with simple dress patterns.  We added a zip and neatened up the method of adding cuffs to Molly's once we cut the toile and Mandy made her life a little bit more tricky by using a very stretchy fabric.

Sue had made and lined a fabulous dress this month with the hope that she could wear it to the Chatsworth show.  Unfortunately the weather put paid to that but I am sure you will agree its a fantastic dress.....

I have been busy freemotion quilting what will now be known as the bee quilt as I had fun free motioning some bees onto the design.

I have not forgotten about the year quilt though and a few more squares have been added to the box.  Next month it may be time to start building it...........

Whilst on my travels I happened across the Fabric Centre in Scarborough.  Stacked floor to ceiling with cotton fabrics, mostly at £5 per metre!  The first tunic is made so watch this space for the rest!

Have a fabulous June and keep sewing............
