Read all about it!

Summer officially starts on the 21st of June here in the UK, but I already have lots of sunshine to share from the Learn It Stitch It studio...

Tim has finished, with great care and precision, his Duffel coat...here he is sporting the very item. He has to officially now carry the title of Dr. Sewing Smith having gone to great lengths to make the perfect coat for himself. The coat was fully lined in a very funky material and the fastenings were handmade toggles with imitation bone buckles. Great job Tim. He's now working on a hat for himself...I won't ruin the surprise, but suffice to say its looking very cool...:)

One of the All Boys crew on a Wednesday evening, Ian, has made this splendid bag for his partner. Made from a PVC coated Orla Kiely fabric, this rucksack looked gorgeous. Well done Ian...:)

Jane made these beautiful notebooks...and this handbag organiser to make swapping bags a lot easier...great idea Jane :)

I always say not all projects have to be complicated...Bev came wanting to learn a new simple skill after a hard week and proceeded to find a new love of free-motion embroidery.  She make this greeting card for her friends house warming on her 1st attempt.

Jackie up-cycled some denim jeans to make these super looking shoulder bags with a bright linning.

And Sue made this blue suede tote bag on a day course....my old Singer came in handy again to do some of the grunt work and the finished product was wonderful, well done Sue.

Having purchased this fabric on our last fabric shopping expedition in Birmingham, Mirriam made this lovely dress...great use of the fabric. She has covered the buttons as well.

We have exciting machine news.  An old Bernina 1008 has been added to the workshops from the old adult education centre in Leicester so I have made a new machine cover and sewing mat for it and coming soon is a new Bernina 780 embroidery machine to replace the Brother Innovis V5.  You too can make a machine cover on a day course.

I know you all like to see Spencer in action...well here he is being inactive...having decided all of the sewing activity in the Learn it Stitch It studio is just too tiring...even though he's not actually done any of the sewing!

Thank you for checking in, I'll look forward sharing more very soon.
