Gosh what happened to this year!
Lets start with the quilt. This year I was doing four squares a month to make a sampler quilt. This month I have started to put it together and it is beginning to look quite amazing. I am looking forward to getting it bound and free motion quilted next.
The dress of the month has to be the Cocoon dress. I now have a whole wardrobe full and have been using this simple but elegant pattern to teach students how to sew stretch fabrics, using ballpoint needles, twin needles, overlockers and wooly thread. I have another day course just teaching these in November but I am sure that will not be the last. Angela and Clair had a lovely day and don't they look great. Sue has now made two!
There have been some very lucky children this month. Miriam's daughter has been the recipient of this fantastic dress cushion, so very pretty. It had been appliquéd, added to with beads and an invisible zip added. Well done Miriam. Her son is the next lucky recipient; watch this space....
Meanwhile Ellie has had some lessons with her Dad, Gabe. She made some PJs over the summer and is back at half term to make some cushions. Talking of Gabe.....
He has finished his waistcoat. How smart is that! He has also turned into a Christmas elf with Tim. They have both started early with some decorative items. Gabe has made his family stockings, embroidering names on using the Brother machine and Tim is making an advent calendar.
Fantastic month.
At the end of the month I will be at the Big Texiles Show at Oadby Racecourse.
