Showers of April Creativity

Well...April really has been a tale of two weathers...we started the month with plenty of April showers and now we're being treated to some sunshine (finally).

The Learn It Stitch It Studio has been as industrious as ever...so here's a look at what's been happening...:)

Tim, and his friends Tracy and Janet, all came to one of my Day Courses. Tim carried on with his coat - he's running out of cold weather now! :) Janet made a dress for herself using the fabric from a Sari she'd been given. You'll see from the photo that Janet did really well with her fussy-cutting to make the very best use of the pattern in the material. Tracy made herself a Cocoon dress - plenty of those have been leaving the Studio recently - its a great design

People seem to have been inspired by my bag making endeavours...some lovely bags have left the Studio in recent weeks...Sue made a cross-body bag from a genuine Harris Tweed, Lisa made a messenger bag and Sally a two-tone rucksack. I should mention that all of them used a range of fastenings and closures for their bags to create a really professional finish - nice work :)

A lovely Tool Belt here from Miriam...made for her 3 year-old Son Harvey - hence the H.

You'll there is a theme developing...lots of Children are also feeling the benefits from all this sewing...here is an Apron by Jane made for her Grandson...

And this lovely dress made by Bev, a newbie to Learn It Stitch It, for her Grand Daughter. Lovely work :)

Mandy has been learning how to do free-motion embroidery and has made this applique, free-motion, rough-embroidery, decorative hanging for the back of her laundry door.

I've also been putting my free-motion embroidery skills to work too...here's some cards I've started making. Lots of fun :)

That's it for now, thank you for checking in, catch up soon and keep stitching.
