My fabrics stash has turned into a few dresses this month and everybody is getting ready for the summer holidays. My little pile from Scarborough has been made into two lovely dresses and two top, I'm very happy with them.
Gabriel has made one of the poshest beach bags I've ever seen. It has internal pockets, zips, hidden pockets and all in lovely nautical fabrics. He's also been making PE bags for his children, and a peg bag for his wife. I'm assured she asked for one! Molly and Mandy have been making vest tops and are now on their second dresses. Molly up cycled two of her old dresses into ones that she will now wear. Excellent work Molly. We have a young starter this month with Eunice. 1st project with me, a shirt dress. Well done Eunice, the toile is looking good!
Having made a start on my Scarborough stash, I topped it up at the show in Birmingham last weekend! The show had some wonderful fabrics and although a bit smaller than the one in the spring I found some real treasures. Now all I have to do is decide what to make them into… What 1st another linen jacket, an embroidered hemmed skirt, decisions decisions.
Somebody who knows exactly what she's making is Amanda. Using two very tricky fabrics silk chiffon and Dupion silk she's making a dress for the renewal of her vows in the Maldives in the autumn. Although she's finding the fabric a little tricky, I'm sure you will agree the top is looking fantastic, now for the skirts. An under one in Dupion and an over one in silk chiffon.
I'm a little behind on my quilt making this month but promise to rectify it over the weekend with a large dresden flower square for the centre.
Enjoy the summer!
